Nikon, Canon or Sony for a Pocket Digicam with manual exposure?
Yes, this time I'm about to buy a Pocket Digicam with full manual exposure options, and so far I've narrowed my search to Canon, Nikon and Sony… Obviously I'm looking for a capable, robust and well built small camera… It won't be a new one since today's digicams have taken off manual options and viewfinders from their pocket size digicams, but I've found many options at Keh and Adorama…
Nikon S8100 works well in low light situations and has manual exposure.
You should take a look at new cameras, you can get complete exposure control. Dpreview.com has old and new reviews, here is an older Canon http://www.dpreview.com/...s/canonG9/. Here's a new Nikon http://www.dpreview.com/...ikonp7100/.
The two models that immediately spring to mind are Canon's G12 and Nikon's P7100. Personally I think the Canon is the better of the two due to it's longer development line. It should be noted though that both cameras use the same third party sensor, with the Canon tied to Canon's own image processing chip while the Nikon uses an "off-the-shelf" chip.
