Nikon, Canon or Sony for low-end digicams?
This time, I'm not going to ask for 'technical info' on these brands, since my only concern is to know more about their general quality, materials, durability and reliability, in the beginners segment; say digicams under $200 new.
I currently have a Canon Power Sot SD870 IS digital camera. I'm getting a new one for my birthday/Christmas. I was interested in the new Nikon 1 J1, mainly because it has the interchangeable lenses. I have always wanted a more powerful camera, but they get very big and i couldn't just throw it in a bag and go out with it. (another advantage of the Nikon) I was just wondering if the Nikon is worth the price? And it there something else like it? Anything else I should be looking at?
What's wrong with my Nikon AF-S DX 18 - 55mm f/3.5 - 5.6G ED?
The lens will not focus, it might be jammed but it is not always hard to turn the lens to zoom in and out, does anyone know what could possibly be wrong with it? Has anyone had problems with this lens before?

Should I trade my Camera for a Droid?
My camera isn't professional it's GE X5, and I don't like the macro settings. I was thinking that when I get the money (next month) I could get a better camera like a nikon l110 or a canon. However I wasn't sure if I should trade it or sell it on Craigslist. So far I have a choice between the Lg Optimus for T mobile, or a Sidekick 4g. My phone isn't bad, but it isn't good either it's a Samsung gravity 3… I don't want to make this decision on impulse like I did with my camera.
DSLR or compact system camera? - 1
I want to learn professional photography just as a hobby. What camera should I buy? Will the Sony NEX 5N be good enough to try everything out to make me a fully learned photographer? Or should I get a DSLR by Canon/Nikon etc? I'm really confused from all the blogging I've done recently on these topics. Please suggest me different models in different price ranges & different makes.
Is the hotshoe dock on the Canon G12 the same as the Canon T3?

Is my ex hinting that he wants me back?
My ex boyfriend was horrible to me after break up. My boyfriend broke up with me on valentines day at the beginning of this year and after that he started going out with girls he knows i have issues with just to get to me, he posted disgusting rumors about me online and started mailing and texting me abuse.
However a few months ago he text and asked to see me, naturally thinking he was just trying to mess with my feelings i told him to get lost but he kept asking so i eventually gave in and met up with him. Since then i have been seeing him 1-2 times a week. We usually just act like friends, watching movies and talking but every now and again he will try to kiss me before i move away and he likes to hug alot. Thinking i didn't hear he mumbled under his breath that he loved me and i've been a little distant from him since then.
Yesterday he stopped by my house and dropped off a christmas present for me, i decided to open it early to discover that he had gotten me an expensive nikon camera and a me to you card. Is he hinting that he wants me back? X
