Infinity focus on prime lenses?

I'm looking to purchase the Nikon AF-S 50mm f/1.8 G. If it is a prime lens (focal point stays at 50mm), then why is it capable of focusing to infinity? I'm a bit confused on that part. If someone can clarify this, it would be extremely helpful!

Why does my Nikon N80 camera have an error?

Its flashing ERR on the tiny screen and it has the DX on the bottom left corner. It won't let me take any pictures and it makes this weird sound. How can I fix this? I only got 1 shot, then BOOM; ERROR. Wtf?!

I just went to Africa with the Nikon J1 and liked it but I plan on going back to Africa soon and my friend that I travelled with had the Powershot and I had camera envy because of the zoom capabilities but I don't know what the difference between the PowerShot and the Rebel is and what sort of advantages one would offer over the other. High quality photos, quick picture taking capabilities, stabilizing to keep from blurring and fantastic zoom are my top priorities. Thoughts?

Would you buy a nikon fe or fm?

I'm thinking about getting one. I have only used an fe and I really like it. The light meter is straightforwards and the auto setting for shutter is nice. I know that the fm doesn't have this but it also doesn't need batteries. It seems the fm runs for a little bit more which seems a little bit weird. Maybe there are just fewer. Anyways, which camera do you prefer and why? Also, what does the light meter on the fm look like? Is it like the fe or is it closer to the f2 (along the bottom and a plus and minus instead of which shutter you should use) Thanks!
