Why does my Nikon N80 camera have an error?

Its flashing ERR on the tiny screen and it has the DX on the bottom left corner. It won't let me take any pictures and it makes this weird sound. How can I fix this? I only got 1 shot, then BOOM; ERROR. Wtf?!

Is it a brand new camera? If so return it to the seller and show them the problem… They should replace it for you.

Jim, the N80 is discontinued film camera circa 2000 or so. There are many reason the camera could be giving that error, but more than likely your film wasn't loaded correctly - the weird sound you're hearing is happening because the film was loaded incorrectly.
