Do old film slr camera lenses work on new dslr cameras?

I want to buy a nikon dslr camera and my dad has an old nikon film slr with a few lenses and I thought I could save some money if I used his old lenses instead of buying new ones.

Should I sell my Canon ELPH 100 HS to get a Samsung ST700?

I had a Samsung TL210 and I loved that until it broke. I received the Canon for a graduation present but to my dismay it didn't have all the features the samsung had. I mainly use cameras for pictures rather than video recording.

I don't have much knowledge on cameras really but I know Canon has a reputation for being the best (along with Nikon) and also that the Canon has 1080 resolution for video recording while the samsung has 720. Those two are what's holding me back so I'm not sure if I should sell the Canon or it's something worth keeping?

What country is the Nikon 24-120mm AF-D lens made in?

I've been researching but can't find it.

Added (1). Yes it is made in Japan! I finally found a picture of the backside of the lens where it tells you where it is made.

Backpacks at nikon at jones beach?

I'm going to see the Drake concert later on today at Nikon at Jones beach but I'm coming from really far away by way of public transportation. I would like to get there a little early to enjoy the beach but I would need just a small backpack to do so. Does anybody who has been there within the past year know if security will deny me access with my bag if I go to the concert after I've been to the beach

What URL for Tumblr and How to?

First question:
I'm starting a new photography blog (haha it's like my fifth blog on tumblr) and I need a url.
I was thinking something with "shutter" "click" or like "nikon" or "canon" in it. (The two brands i use.)
What do you guys think?

Also, I was just wondering… I always see people with things in the comment section saying: "Boho Blog!" and then it's blue cause it has a URL to their blog. Is this something they manually copy and paste into the comment section everytime they reblog, or is it something you can get? If so, can someone tell me please how to get it?

Thanks so much guys! No rude answers s'il vous plait.
xx

How to get the most out of my camera?

I have a Nikon AW100 and I really want to get the most out of my pictures (as I hope anyone would!) I take a wide variety of pictures, whether it be pictures of my brothers or friends while we're doing something or it could be a landscape. Next month my family is taking a vacation out west to Wyoming and Montana to see the Tetons and Yellowstone. This is my first time away from the east coast and I would really love to have some incredible pictures to have as memories. All tips are greatly appreciated!

Best Nikon DSLR Under 1000$?

I'm looking for best semi-pro (not actually too entry level) DSLR cameras under 1000$. I've decided to buy Canon 60D (Apart meny of it's features, I also liked it's articular LCD). But want to know about Nikon. Is there any good one in this range? Good enough, better then 60D?

Buying a camera. Nikon vs Canon?

So, I'm thinking about buying a DSLR camera, but I have only had experience with Canons… I don't have enough experience with Nikons to decide which I like better. What are some general pros and cons to both? In which areas are Nikons better, and in which areas are Canons better? Which do YOU prefer?
