Is the flash on a newer Canon Point and Shoot stronger & brighter than the older models?

Erin
Or is that irrelevant?
Why is the flash on my nikon p&s weaker than the canon p&s? (canon one is brighter indoors)

Elvis
Different brands have different standards
some canon models let you choose the brightness of the flash
that is what I like about canon

Here is a place that lists the guide numbers of the flashes on P&S cameras.
See for yourself.

Irrelevant. In point-and-shoot cameras, the flash is more or less the same no matter what brand or model.
