So my Nikon died today and I need a new cam for my upcoming trip to Manhattan. Any good ones? Id like another Nikon but I'm open to other brands.
Digital Cameras Comparable to Sony Cyber-Shot H-Series?
As my topic indicates, I'm looking for digital cameras that are comparable (i.e. The same quality and price range, $300-500) to Sony's Cyber-Shot H-series cameras. In particular, I'm looking for Nikon and Canon. Can anyone tell me the series of cameras these companies have that are comparable to that line of Sony cameras.
Which camera would be better for a beginning photographer?
Recently, I've been interested in photography and was looking to purchase my first camera.
Luckily, my Dad told me he happened to have two cameras; one he can give to me and the other to sell on eBay.
The two cameras he has is an older Nikon FG from around the 70's-80's (shown here: 
) and a newer Nikon af n5005 (shown here: 
).
I'm not going to be using them for anything professional; I'm simply getting into photography as a casual hobby to see where it goes from there. I might see about taking photos for my school yearbook, but that's mainly all i'd use my camera for. I was just wondering which would be more suited for a beginner, such as myself.
What's the difference bewteen nikon and fujifilm?
The nikon L22 and the fujifilm S2940 which is better to take great pics?

Hi. I want to get a camera for my 14th birthday this summer. My parents are will to spend anything between £100 - £150.
it has to have really good, far zoom (i want to use it for concerts)
really clear, sharp, vivid colours and basically great quality photos
easy to use - i'm not a professional photogropher remember!
and some/a lot of effects, such as sepia/night light/outside/inside/black and white etc
oh and it must have video with sound!
do you have any recommendations? I found these ones online, maybe you could tell me which one i should go for?

I'm Looking for a DSLR looking Point and Shoot?
I need a camera UNDER 200. That looks like a dslr but is not. It needs to have a handle thing and a zoom at least 10x. Something similar to the Nikon l810.
What a low-bugdet photocamera would you suggest?
I have a DSRL Sony Alpha 200, and I would like to have a compact camera so that I can take it together whenever I want, for example when going out etc, because a large camera is sometimes so heavy to carry. What would you advise? Canon? Nikon? Sony? (no Olympus, please)

Nikon J1 not turning on, at all?
I bought the camera in feb. And have been using it since and actually just recently used it for the 4th but today when I tried to take photos it wouldn't turn on, at all. I tried everything I can think of and read the manual which said something about an extremely rare case and to take it back to the retailer. My question is, has anyone else had this issue and/or can anyone tell me what to expect when I take it back to where I bought it?
