Which camera would be better for a beginning photographer?

Recently, I've been interested in photography and was looking to purchase my first camera.
Luckily, my Dad told me he happened to have two cameras; one he can give to me and the other to sell on eBay.
The two cameras he has is an older Nikon FG from around the 70's-80's (shown here: ) and a newer Nikon af n5005 (shown here:
).
I'm not going to be using them for anything professional; I'm simply getting into photography as a casual hobby to see where it goes from there. I might see about taking photos for my school yearbook, but that's mainly all i'd use my camera for. I was just wondering which would be more suited for a beginner, such as myself.

I have a Canon Rebel t3 and it does wonders! I would highly recommend it. It has many settings to choose from, light weight, easy to use. It also comes with it's starter lense.

Anyone one will do its about which camera you are more comfortably useing and which one you likeā¦ Its not all about the camera its about the person using the camera and what they do with it.
