Nikon J1 not turning on, at all?

I bought the camera in feb. And have been using it since and actually just recently used it for the 4th but today when I tried to take photos it wouldn't turn on, at all. I tried everything I can think of and read the manual which said something about an extremely rare case and to take it back to the retailer. My question is, has anyone else had this issue and/or can anyone tell me what to expect when I take it back to where I bought it?

Is the battery charged? Is there a memory card in the camera? Many cameras won't operate unless there's a card in the slot.

If you're doing everything right contact Nikon. The camera is still under warranty.

Have you been recharging the battery faithfully overnight each time the battery indicator emptied?
