What is the difference between canon and nikon?
Is there an actual difference or is it just personal opinions, does a certain one take better pictures?
Camera advice please, any thoughts welcome?
So for a while now I've been thinking of upgrading to a DSLR. I have a fairly top of the range compact camera but have got sick of getting home pulling up the photos on my computer and thinking "it didn't look like that". Last night I went to see my favourite band and 90% of the photos I took were absolute gash.
Most of the people I know have suggested a Nikon or Canon but another friend suggested that the most important thing is getting a really good lense. I have the money to buy one now, I'm prepared to spend £300-400 maybe a bit more for something really good.
Added (1). I can't use manual settings on my camera so often the flash is either way too bright or not bright enough.

Is it worth me buying a bridge camera?
I already have the samsung ST600 and would prehaps like a bridge camera. The Nikon L120 has interested me as it has good reviews and is just over £100. I haven't got much to spend (£130 max).So I was just wondering if it is worth me buying a bridge camera (most probably the L120) or to stick to my ST600. Also, any other suggestions for bridge cameras are welcome. Thanks!
Added (1). I'm thinking of buying the L120 because it seems like a better camera but because I'm a complete beginner, I'm not too sure!

How to film videos for youtube?
Oki so I have a sony cybershot which films amazing quality youtube videos but the problem is that I do not have a flipscreen camera and I really am not in the mood to buy some dslr canon or nikon (not interested in buying any new stuff at all except if its inexpensive)… Now the problem is that I have to set a lot of mirrors around me so I can see what i'm doing but that does not help enough, its quite hard to do it like that and because I have to film makeup videos I need to see my face really well, So i need to know that If there's anything (like some kind of software or app) that when I attach my camera through usb in the laptop it becomes sort of like a webcam and i can see what i'm doing, or I'm thinking of buying Logitech C910 HD 10 mp webcam, would that work for good hd youtube videos?

Nikon Speedlight SB-600 is acting funny?
The flash started doing this thing where it "clicks" (with a light) 3 times before it actually takes the photo, resulting in about a 3 second delay from the time the button is pressed. Is there anyway to fix it? I'm photographing a wedding tomorrow and can't have it doing that!

I just purchased the Nikon 5100 camera?
I just purchased the Nikon 5100 camera and am wondering if there's an external flash that I should purchase for this camera? Any recommendations?

Added (1). Thanks to everyone who has offered advice. I keep hearing "make sure you have a good quality tri-pod". I bought a camera bundle off of Amazon and the tripod came in it. How do i know if I have a good enough tri-pod?

I've looked at the Sony Nex range and i love the look of these, however they're too expensive. If anyone knows a cheap website that'd be appreciated! I've also looked at the Nikon J1 and love the look of it and the speed shutter speed but i'm concerned about the image quality!
