I'm about to go and by a new DSLR camera. I'm looking at the sort of 'prosumer' range and have narrowed it down to either the:
Canon EOS 5D MK II
or;
Nikon D700
Both are very good cameras in their own right, but I've only used the Sony Alpha range before. I mainly focus on artistic projects, landscapes, portraits, etc. I would however like something that can allow me to explore other fields and techniques as my knowledge improves however. I have taken a huge interest in High Dynamic Range (HDR) photography recently and I can see it being a path that I will be playing with for a while.
Any advice would be gratefully received.

1) vivitar 7mm fisheye = $315
2) Rokinon 8mm fisheye = $280
A have a cropped sensor DSLR (Nikon D200) So I want to get a wide as possible.
My question is, is the 1mm really that much of a difference? And If you had to choose, which one would you get?
Added (1). Thanks Todd, But I'm on a VERY tight budget, and the cheapest Nikon fisheye lens is the 10.5mm for $775, and that would make it a 15.75mm on my D200… So I can't afford it, and it's not what I want.

8mm fisheye vs 7mm fisheye? - 1

Cheap fisheye lens for Nikon DSLR?
All the fisheye lens i'm seeing are in the $400+ range, and I can't afford that.
I have a budget of no more than $250, and NO… I do not want the "screw-on fisheye adapters" for less than $20.
I want the REAL lens that I can attach mount to mount.
I have a Nikon D200 if that helps.
And I'm willing to get used/older/manual focus lens.

Around 500 euros…
should I buy the nikkor 60mm f2, 8 or tamron 90 mm 2, 8 (or other lens? Please suggest)
sharpness before everything
Added (1). Ok sorry
I use a nikon D300s

What's an extremely cheap, low tripod head?
I own a kombi and i got the idea to buy a really low, small tripod head that i could stick onto the dash and mount my camera, effectively making my car a giant, 4 four wheeled tripod. I think it would be really handy and i could use heaps of long exposures while driving et cetera.
i was just wondering what everyones opinion on an extremely inexpensive (i'm talking extremely cheap), low yet sturdy tripod head. It should be able to support a nikon d300 and a 24 - 70mm.
i've been searching the interwebs and have come up with a few options such as the Velbon PH-25, SLIK Standard Ball Head-II, Manfrotto 494 Ball Head or the Giottos MH-1002.
any opinions or new ideas are greatly appreciated and have a good day
Added (1). I already own a tripod

Added (1). Dude, its a kombi. The window is huge, there would be more than enough room for the camera. The cameras not going to live there, just when i feel like.
you clearly don't understand the point of this, its not to produce professional photos, just for some fun and something to do.
i have no intention of using a window mount.
i only say for use with my nikon because its the largest camera i have got so i thought a tripod head that could support that would be more than enough for any camera i have, including my tiny lomo cameras i use for fun.

Nikon d3100 and Nikon 50mm f/1.8D AF Nikkor Lens for Nikon Digital SLR Cameras?
I read that you need a G series nikkor lens for the auto focus for the d300 and d3100. I had been told that the one i named above (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00005L… Would work fine with it and bought it THEN read up on it but found little lol. My question is, even if the AF doesn't work can i use the manual focus fine with my nikon d3100? The G series is too expensive anyways and i'm using this for my home studio on a tripod so not too worried about having to use manual if thats the case
