Where to buy cheap cameras?

I'm looking for a cheap Nikon D700 and can only find ones around $2000 or $1500 for just the body which is so expensive for me.
anyone know of a site or store with cheap D700's or good deals?
I'm currently in Australia but i have the option of purchasing it (in person) from the USA or UK

EBay
it's not that hard.

You can buy it used on craigslist but most of the time its stolen or somethings up. Shutterspeed etc…

Best Buy. They will give you the best deals

gee bee
I bought mine on amazonwarehouses.com and got a fantastic deal on a 'refurbished' Canon for $100 less than sale price.
I phoned them up and asked, 'What means 'refurbished,?' and the man said, 'a lot of people buy a camera and then decide they want to 'Upgrade' and send it back, brand new, in the box still. We guarantee it is in 100% good condition!'
So I ordered it and it turned up three days later and I've had it about 6 years now and it's a beauty. A Canon A630 8mega pixelss with a 2 GIGA flashcard which takes 1, 000 snaps of super high quality.
I love it!

New D700 cameras are selling for about $2, 700 on Amazon, about a $300 drop in cost with the introduction of the D800
Nikon sells refurbished D700 cameras for $2, 430
I would be afraid of a $1500 used D700 unless I could hold it in my hands and test it using my CF card and then look at the results on my notebook computer and look at the EXIF data to see how many shutter cycles have occurred while the seller had it.
It seems that you will have to save your pennies a little longer

If the camera is cheap it is probably in bad shape. Be careful.
