Number of shutter clicks on Nikon D40?

I see cameras advertised as having 10K shutter clicks, etc. Are they just estimating or is there an internal counter that keeps track of the clicks? If so, how do I access that information?

Manual mode for the Nikon D3100?

I have a Nikon EM and some lenses. It is basically a point and shoot film camera.
I'm planning to get a nikon D3100, and since all nikon uses the F mount, I'm thinking on just buying the body of D3100 ( because cash is short on me at the time being)

I'm just wondering if I can use the lens and really use the D3100 into a manual mode than an auto mode. I know its possible, since all DSLR cameras could do that, but I'm just wondering how much manual could i get out from the D3100.

Sorry for my stupidity I never own a DSLR before, and I'm using film all this while.

My Nikon D40 Isn't focusing properly?

I have the 18-55mm Nikkor Lens, I shoot on Manual with my SB 600 and I only use Auto Focus when shooting at a Party/Club. And the problem is… Instead of Focusing on the "Closest Subject" It focuses on the Subj behind the Closest Subj. Lol Sounds funny… What Can I do to fix that? My AF-Area mode is on "Closest Subject" And my Metering is on "Matrix"… Note: It randomly chooses when it wants to focus on the closest subj rather than what's behind it.

Does the Sigma EF 610 DG Super flash work on the Nikon D5000 camera?

If not, any recommendation on other flash with equivalent power to SB 900 but cheaper that would work on the D5000?

How big of a picture can I print out at good quality with a 12.3 megapixel camera?

I have a Nikon D5000 and I'm just wondering what is the largest resolution I can print a picture at without getting pixelated would be?

Should I upgrade my Nikon D3000 for a D90?

Just got ahold of a D3000 today. I'm new to DSLR photography. Should I sell my D3000 and invest in a D90?

I'm thinking of doing this because in about a year I might want to upgrade and at that time the resell value of the D3000 will go down so I might as well sell it now and pay the extra for a D90 that will last me… Much longer!

What do you guys think? Is it worth it?

Added (1). Sorry guys I meant to mention that I DID NOT buy the D3000. Somebody gave it to me for free.

Added (2). One reason why I'm leaning towards the D90 is because of the built in AF motor. I could use a lot of older lenses that are much cheaper… (in the long run)

What do i need to make my AB 800 light?

I recently purchased an alien bee 800 strobe light and i have a nikon D90. I believe it came with a sync cord but it doesn't seem to plug into my cam & light? Is there an additional acessory needed for my light to sync with my cam? If so what? Thank you.

Really life like dream what does it mean?

Here are some facts that will help understand my dream:
♥ I have wanted the Nikon d5000 dslr since november and my dad said that I'm getting it soon.
♥ Every year I go to Bosnia for a month in the summer, where I live in a huge house with my grandparents, aunt, uncle and cousins.
♥ Taking Photography for GCSE
♥ Want to loose a lot of weight before I go on holiday this year.

Here goes my dream:
I came home from my usual summer day; With a couple of friends in the boiling heat by the lake swimming and hanging around. I go to my aunt's and uncle's flat (in the huge house) into the living room and my mum seems to be packing things on their dinning room table. My mum points over to some material and says 'your camera is under there' I look over to where she pointed and under a piece of material was the DSLR Camera I want. I take my camera and went out to our farm/field and started taking photos but al of them came out bad and I remember in my dream I kept deleting all the photos because they looked beautiful but when I took te photo it looked terrible.

What do you think does my dream mean?

I'm fairly new to cameras but I plan to do A level photography next year and I'm getting the grip of it. My parents bought me a seconed hand camera for Christmas, a Nikon D70.It came with everything apart from a flash bulb.
All I need to know is a few things;
1, What is the termonolgy, do I just call it a screw on flash bulb?
2, What 'bulb' would fit onto my NikonD70?
3, How much should this cost?
