How big of a picture can I print out at good quality with a 12.3 megapixel camera?
I have a Nikon D5000 and I'm just wondering what is the largest resolution I can print a picture at without getting pixelated would be?
I believe its approx. 42 squared CM
But i'm not entirely sure
Hope this helped
I have had 20 x 30 inch prints made from image files captured by a 12 mp camera.
Now these images were captured in RAW and after processing, saved as TIFF (so, there was NO JPEG compression) and was captured using a dSLR.
How large a 12 mp sensored P&S can be printed, you will just have to do a test. Have an 8x10 print made from the middle of your image as well as one of the edges to see if YOUR image actually holds together.
There's much more to producing large prints than just the pixel pixel count on the sensor.
Perfect focus, using the sharpest aperture of the lens (two stops down), NO blur caused by camera or subject movement during the exposure and a perfect (or as near as possible) exposure. With all those components in place, you can produce nice large prints
