Do you any problem with nikon D3100?
I would like to know if anyone has any problem with nikon D3100? Bc.i'm going to buy it, i just wanted to know is there's problem!
Okay so my parents best friends are going to have a wedding in Feb. Its going to be low budget and they can't spend any money on a real photographer. I'm only 17 but i offered to help out i have a Nikon d3100 and i have previous experience shooting at other events… I know a wedding is a HUGE step but its better then not having a photographer at all isn't it? I'm not going to be charging them at all i just need a little advice.
the know i have zero experience what so ever with weddings, and they are okay with it.

I want to get a Nikon d3100 but I hear that the noise quality is not good. I'm wondering if it can record without the auto focus because the noise is annoying! Would the canon 550d be a better dslr camera?

My sister keeps asking me how she can earn enough money to buy a camera since I'm all big with money (is $100 every month really big?) and keeps asking my mom for a Nikon D5000, D3100, or D3000. She's only 12, so I don't see how she'll get money only from birthdays and christmas. She got $100 on Christmas, but our mom took it…
Anyway, she wants one for photography and good focus and I'm considering buying one for her. But the $100 i get is for my college fund, clothes, food, the regular stuff. She wants a $500-600 camera! Right now on me I got $4.

DSLR LENS.to pick the right one
So, I have the money to get a new lens for my Nikon D60 but I'm overwhelmed with all the options. What I need really is zoom… But I want a lens that I can use in low light and outdoors… Pretty much a jack-of-all-trades but not outrageously expensive. The lens I'm thinking about (linked below) is $759 and I don't know how much more I could spend on a lens. So any advice, thoughts, rants, would be appreciated AND do you think a refurbished lens from Amazon would be a good buy?

Purple ring around subject, Nikon?
I know there's nothing wrong with my camera, but I'm just curious as to the mechanics of why this happened.
Today a took a photo of my mom's peacock. It was sunny with bright white snow as the only background. His neck is a vibrant, brilliant blue and there's a narrow purple band between his neck and the featureless snow in the background. I was using a 30 year old Spiratone 400mm and my Nikon D40. My photo was overexposed somewhat, especially for the background but I still have good detail of the feathers on his neck. He was in such a hurry to get away I didn't get a chance for a second photo with different exposure. Anyone know why this phenomena occurs?
