How do I make the shutter speed on the Nikon D3000 go as long as about 2-3 minutes, it only seems to go to about 30 seconds and I can't work out how to manually change it, how do I make it go for longer?
Best lens for my Nikon D5000 SLR camera
I only have the standard lens that it came with the 18-55mm lens, and i'm trying to invest in a better one.i'm still an amateur at photography but i really enjoy it so i want one that can be used for lots of different purposes. I've been googling and i still don't know
i want one that has a decent zoom, preferably with a macro built in thats good for general photography

Would it be a good decision to switch from Nikkor 85mm f/1.8 to a 50mm f/1.4 if?
I'm using a Nikon D90
i have been using the 85mm f/1.8 for over a year and i have to say this its been given me VERY sharp images amazing colour but one problem i always face is that it seems very difficult to handle in full body situations or when taking pictures of fundraisers in my school if i'm not doing simple head-shots t therefore i have been thinking of getting something with a smaller focal length that is more practical
if i was to switch to 50mm f/1.4 will i see noticeable changes in quality? If so are they better or worse? And will my headshots look about the same or will i lose something?
*optional question* if you have another lens in mind wat would you suggest?

Where to buy DSLR cameras for cheap?
I want to buy a Nikon D5000, with the included 18-55 lens. I don't mind if it's used or refurbished. I just want it to do it's job. The cheapest i've been able to find this model is for about 560 on ebay. But does anybody know a legitimate website where they sell maybe overstocked/floor model cameras or something like that?
I checked overstock.com and the cheapest is 600.

How to find out the shutter count on a nikon d50?
I'm planning to buy a secondhand nikon but first i want to make sure the shutter count isn't too high. Does anyone know anything about this, how to find out the number, etc? If a picture is taken on the camera and is named "dsc0640" could that mean that 640 pictures have been taken?
How do ISO settings and quality differ for the Nikon D70, D90, and D7000?
I've had a D70 for a few years now, and it's starting to show it's age a bit, so I'm thinking about upgrading to a newer model in the same line (either a D90 or a D7000).
Two of my major gripes with the D70 were 1) its low maximum ISO setting (1200) and 2) its poor performance at anything above 600 ISO. Just looking at the specs for the D90 and D7000, I can see that they both have a much wider ISO range, but I can't tell if the image quality at high ISOs has improved.
Anyone have any experience with the difference in quality between the D70 and D90? Or a D90 and D7000? More generally--and I know this is entirely subjective--is the difference in quality and features worth the difference in price between the D90 and D7000?

Here are some facts that will help understand my dream:

♥ Every year I go to Bosnia for a month in the summer, where I live in a huge house with my grandparents, aunt, uncle and cousins.

Here goes my dream:
I came home from my usual summer day; With a couple of friends in the boiling heat by the lake swimming and hanging around. I go to my aunt's and uncle's flat (in the huge house) into the living room and my mum seems to be packing things on their dinning room table. My mum points over to some material and says 'your camera is under there' I look over to where she pointed and under a piece of material was the DSLR Camera I want. I take my camera and went out to our farm/field and started taking photos but al of them came out bad and I remember in my dream I kept deleting all the photos because they looked beautiful but when I took the photo it looked terrible. My friend Amy came up onto the farm/field looking for me and I was holding my camera sitting in long grass all moody. Amy told me to cheer up and then my crush came walking up to me and we started to talk and after my photos turned out great but really dark (as in grey sky's, black birds)
