Do I really need to buy an extra 55-200mm lense?
So I'm saving up for my first DSLR camera, and I have been learning a lot about photography in the meantime. I have decided to buy a nikon d3100, and I'm not sure if I should buy a 55-200mm Lens also. I will be taking pictures of things at horse shows, horses and more outdoorsy stuff. No wild life besides horses though. My question is, will I really need that extra zoom, or is the 18-55mm enough? I would like to spend my money on other lenses also, so I want to know if the 55-200mm Lens is worth the money. (the nikon d3100 is 529$ with just the kit Lens. With that and the 55-200mm Lens bundle it is 749$. The lense itself is 179$ on amazon.com )
I'm looking to get my 1st DSLR. I've been researching it for so long that I've almost confused myself more because obviously every camera has some negative reviews. I really want the Canon 5D or 7D, but I think that is a little too much for me to spend right now. So I've narrowed it down to these three cameras…

Canon EOS Rebel T2i
What do you all think? Pro's/Con's? Or other recommendations?
I'm leaning towards the D90 because it seems to have more functions & isn't an "entry-level" camera. I'm also planning to start out by getting the camera with just the lens kit it comes with on Amazon, so keep that in mind when you are recommending.
With a nikon d3100 can you take pictures in live view or is it just for video?

Is a flip out swivle LCD necessary for videography? (on DSLRs)?
I'm confused between the Canon 60D, Canon 7D and maybe the nikon d7000. I've heard the articulated lcd screen can slow down AF, is this true?
Plus, its not absolutely necessary to have more than 9 point AF system, right?
I can't seem to understand how someone could shoot video with a DSLR or any camera without a flip out LCD, while using a tripod. But There are more short films made with the 7D than the 60D! So What's the deal here? Is there some magic way that amateur videographers shoot wonderful videos without using the flip out LCD while seeing what their filming? Without using the optical viewfinder?
I really like the 7d but can't fathom shooting good video with it.

Nikon sb-400 on D40 with 18-200?
I have a Nikon d40 with 18-200mm vr. Will the SB-400 flash solve the shadow from the lens? It is a problem when taking closer pictures using the built in flash.
