What size lens would be best for the following?

Hi, i'm new to photography. I have a nikon d60 and i currently have a 18-55mm lens. I would like to shoot photos of mainly architecture like bridges and some scenery and portraits. I'm going to buy a polarizing filter tomorrow and i might buy another lens or two. Any suggestions on a suitable size lens size for each of the applications?

Added (1). By size i mean focal length. I was thinking of some kind of wide angle

Added (2). Ah, thanks… I was thinking a nikon 55-200mm. I have seen filter screw on type fish eyes. Any experience with those?

Why is my frame rate so bad in Final Cut?

When I import an HD video from my Nikon D7000 and play it back, the frame rate is so terrible.Am I doing something wrong?

Please note that I'm a beginner and I'm still learning. Thanks in advance!

Added (1). Note: It happens after I drag the media file into the sequence, a box comes up that says:

Attention - This clip does not match this sequence's settings or any of your sequences presets.

For best performance your sequence and External Video should be set to the format of the clips you are editing

Change the sequence settings to match the clip settings?

Then the options are Yes and No. Does this have to do with anything? What should I click to stop it from dropping frames?

Nikon Nikkor 18-55mm VR Lens FOCUS RING IS LOOSE

I got a Nikon D5000 and recently my 18-55mm lenses focus ring has gotten randomly loose. It is not loose all around, it feels like it loose on 1 axis, in wobble not in a 360, but simple side to side. And it's making me really angry. Does anyone have any knowledge of how to fix this?

How to take a photo on Nikon d3000?

Hi, I'm borrowing this camera from my teacher for photography class. And we have to take a few photos for an assignment. How to you take a photo on this camera? I'm supposed to have it set on manual, raw, and I already have my memory card in. So how do you take a picture? What do you press? Once I turn it on it's only a menu screen… What do I press to make it so that I can take a picture? And no, I can't look at the user manual because All of it is in Spanish. (frusterating much?) Thank you. All answers are appreciated

HD film vs standard for documentary film making?

I need to buy a camera for making documentaries but am so confused as to what I should go for. First of all I have an extremely low budget (250 GBP) which I can use to upgrade my DSLR to a Canon 550D or Nikon d5000 or to buy a Sony VX2000 second hand camera from my uni. The latter is standard definition and takes DVtapes. If I want to enter my work into festivals I'm not sure if HD is a requirement. Also I think that it's not practical to continuously have to upload footage from an SD card, any advice?

Problems with nikon D90 camera pop up flash?

I have a Nikon D90 that is a little over a year old. Lately it has been giving me issues. I will go to take pictures mostly in Manual, but I get F- - in the top screen. When this happens I can't take any photos and I just have to wait a few hours for it to return to normal. Now a new problems has occurred that the flash will not work. The screen turns blank and nothing happens but it will take the photo just fine with out the flash, though I need the flash to take the majority of my photos as many places have poor lighting.

What kind of camera was used?

What kind of SLRs were used to take these pictures? I know there's a fish eye involved.
I myself have a Sony Alpha 100 (no fish eye). Planning to upgrade to a Nikon D90.
So, will I be able to take pictures of the same quality?
