Beginner sound equipment?

I really
I really

I'm a singer/songwriter and i also play guitar.i've been recording videos with a nikon d3100 but i'm getting really interested in making music. I was wondering what kind of sound equipment would be best to start off with? I'm really new to this.

The most simple (and cheapest) way to record yourself playing would be directly into your PC / laptop and then add the sound to the video you just filmed or post your mp3's online.

You will need a semi-professional soundboard / audio interface, like:
- M-Audio FastTrack Pro (199$): http://www.zzounds.com/item--MDOFTRACKPRO
- Line 6 Pod Studio (159$): http://www.zzounds.com/item--LINPSUX2

You will also have to buy a decent condenser microphone, like Audio Technica AT2035 (95$):

Of course your computer needs to be pretty decent and you'll have to install a multi-track recording software like Cubase / Nuendo or Adobe Audition - they are not too complicated if you spend some time learning the tricks.

Then you'll just have to plug in your guitar into the audio interface, the microphone as well - and press RECORD.

Good luck and I'm looking forward to hearing the results!

Computer with good speakers, USB interface and recording program, such as ProTools.

Guitar and amp. Recording microphone, such as a Shure SM57
Vocal recording mic.

Possibly a mixing board, although I have seen some plugins, or separate programs that act as a mixing board for the computer. I'm not sure how well they work.
