Is video recorded with a nikon d5000 camera compatible with a mac?
I have a new Nikon D5000 camera, and it also records video. I need to make a short movie as a school project, and I have a fairly new Macbook Pro laptop. If I use the camera to record video, will I be able to upload and edit it on my Mac, using imovie?

Want to buy this nikon lens for my nikon dslr?
I can't afford a digital 35mm lens for my Nikon D70 so I found a used Nikon 35 - 70mm Lens 1:3.3 - 4.5 and it's a steal price, but it's for film Nikons. Will it still work with my DSLR or will my DSLR not have autofocus with it?

Nikon d3100 for first time camera? Does it have a noise problem?
So i'm really interested about photography. I already have digital cameras and i want to buy a professional. I was checking youtube and i guess the Nikon d3100 is really good since it's not that expensive but really good.
it's not perfect but i want something that is good for me as an amateur and is not very expensive (1500 $ or less). And is nikon d3100's noise problem unbearable? Like how to reduce noise in photos?

So I'm looking for a shotgun mic for my nikon, since I'm going to be doing an independent film study. I was curious if anyone had a recommendation, keeping it in the 100-300ish price range.

How long does it take for your camera to save a RAW file?
I have Nikon E8400 and it takes about 30 seconds to save one raw file which is a lot so i have to shoot in jpeg because it is much faster. I know the new cameras are much faster but how long for example Nikon D3100 take to save 1 raw file?
Added (1). I'm using Kodak CompactFlash 512MB

Can a camera take photos without lenses?
I know this is a stupid question, but I'm thinking of getting Nikon D7000 only the body, without lenses for now so I was thinking can you take photos only with the body?

Quick question about a camera lens for my NIKON D3100. I have a 18-55mm lens on it and want another one that will be good for portraits, I was thinking maybe the 35mm one but I was looking at the numbers and if I just turn my lens to 35 is that like the same thing? Or will the pictures look different with a 35mm?
Advice/tips anything will be appreciated!

Tethered software for Nikon D3100?
I'm looking for tethered photgraphy software for PC to use with my Nikon D3100 (preferably free). I'm also wondering what the best kind of cable for camera to computer. Any suggestions or help is appreciated.

I love the thing very much.
Here are a couple of my questions though.
1: Is it possible to keep the timer from coming on? Every time I turn on the camera to any picture mode, the timer goes from 30 seconds to 0 and after that it takes the shot.
I feel like I'm always rushed to take a picture.
2: How do I turn on "rule of thirds"?
(I know it's the "info" button, but it becomes a 4 by 4 diagram, but a 3 by 3 diagram.
