Is video recorded with a nikon d5000 camera compatible with a mac?

I have a new Nikon D5000 camera, and it also records video. I need to make a short movie as a school project, and I have a fairly new Macbook Pro laptop. If I use the camera to record video, will I be able to upload and edit it on my Mac, using imovie?

You should be able to copy the video file to your Mac using finder without problems. If iMovie doesn't recognize the video format from the D5000, you can use a freeware video converter to make it so.

Yes absolutely! I will recommend that you shoot ntsc instead of pal however…
