Memory card won't read MY card reader (Macbook Pro)?
Okay, I just got a MacBook Pro and a Nikon D3100 SLR camera, and of course a memory card too. Problem is that my laptop won't read my memory card. (Picture of my memory card - … )
At first I couldn't really understand it, since I've loaded some photos from my sister memory card onto my laptop. (She has a Nikon D3000, but a totally different memory card - picture hers… )
When my sister then tried to put my memory card into her MacBook Pro - SHE could load it, but mine still wouldn't and I've tried on my dads laptop too.
My laptop is the newest in the house, so I don't get it. It can't be my card reader, it can't be the memory card itself - the only thing that pops into my mind is like two magnets resisting each other - like in physics…
Please - is there any camera geeks out there that have tried this, or at least knows a bit about it? I'm usually Really good with technical stuff, but this just doesn't seem logic to me at all!

I know some cameras have HDR technology built into it, like the fujifilm hs20 exr and the nikon d5100, but i have seen people make hdr photos with out hdr enabled cameras. I know they probably make it with there software on there computer. Does anyone know how it can be done, and what software is needed to create it?

Help needed to select DSLR camera
I'm planning to buy a DSLR(camera). As per my budget I can afford either Nikon D3100(with basic 18~55mm lens) and an extra 70~300mm lens OR a basic Nikon D5100 (with basic 18~55mm lens). I'm confused what to go for. My main objective is abstract & adventure photography. Can you guys help?

Best Nikon D40x Lens for Baby Portraits?
I have a 7-month-old daughter and the main reason I bought this camera is to take more professional-looking shots than my old camera could provide. I would like some advice as to whether or not I have a decent set of lenses for the job, and if I don't, what lens(es) could improve my chances of getting beautiful pictures of my little girl. I love soft backgrounds, but don't mind crisper backgrounds in some pictures. I want the focus to be on HER, though.
Here is my current set of lenses:
Tamron-F Zoom Macro 1:45 f=85~210mm (older lens from a 35mm film camera, does not auto-focus)
AF-S DX Nikkor ED 55-200mm 1:4-5.6G
Tamron-F 1:28 f=28mm (older lens from a 35mm film camera, no AF)
Nikkor 50mm 1:18 (I believe this is an older "kit" lens from a 35mm film camera)
Side note: I don't really mind that most of my current lenses don't auto-focus, and wouldn't mind if my future lenses didn't, either. But which option (AF or non-AF) is best for this kind of photography?

Best Water Sports Lens (es) for Nikon D40X?
I'm looking for a good quality lens at a decent price (less than $200) for shooting photos of swim and water polo events. What lens(es) would you suggest for me? I currently have the following:
Tamron-F Zoom Macro 1:45 f=85~210mm (older lens from a 35mm film camera)
AF-S DX Nikkor ED 55-200mm 1:4-5.6G
Tamron-F 1:28 f=28mm (older lens from a 35mm film camera)
Nikkor 50mm 1:18 (I believe this is an older "kit" lens from a 35mm film camera)
Am I OK with these lenses, or should I look for a different lens (or an AF-S version of an existing lens) for shooting water sport pictures?
Side note: I don't really mind that most of my current lenses don't auto-focus, and wouldn't mind if my future lenses didn't, either. But which option (AF or non-AF) is best for this kind of photography?

How to edit out a specific noise in a video?
I always wondered how they do it on shows like Planet Earth (for instance I assume they somehow edit out the sound of the helicopter blades during an areal shot as you can still hear the ambiance and whatnot.) I have a Nikon D3100 and without the option of having an external mic the built in mic pics up the auto focus motor AND the sound of the lens when I zoom in and out and it's just so frustrating. If anyone knows if this is possible and what software to use to do this, please, let me know!
