How to figure out my lense size?
I would like to get a fisheye lense for my nikon D7000. I don't know what mm to get I have two lenses thus far 18-105mm and a 55-200mm. Whitch lense would be better to use the fisheye lense with? I think the 18-105mm would be but i'm still learning the lenses.

Photography: Where do i start?
So a really good friend of mine used to take lots of beautiful pictures all the time. He recently passed away (he was sick for a while) and his parents gave me his Nikon D7000. Its been collecting dust for a while but i've decided id like to pick up photography as a serious hobby, and what better way then with this beautiful camera. I've always loved taking pictures but never had the money for a serious camera. Now upgrading from a point and shoot fully automatic to this type of DSLR is something id have to adjust to. I know the terminology and they technical aspects of SLR (i've played with some in the past) but i'm having difficulty actually putting them into application. When i take good shot i feel like its by fluke because i don't know how this photo turned out good.
My question is, for someone new to DSLRs where should i start? Is there a book i can read that'll help? Or should i take a class or are there really good you tube instructional videos? How do i adjust the aperture, depth of field, ISO, etc to achieve great crisp shots. ( :P not literally "how" but more so in "what circumstances") Anything would be helpful thank you.
Also, I love nigh time photography, nature and portrait, and i have a 18-200mm lens that i got with the camera.

Should I get a Nikon D5100 or a Canon T3i for my first dslr. I'm probably going to stick with the company chosen for years.

How to photograph a courtroom wedding?
My aunt asked me to photograph her wedding ceremony. It will be in a courtroom, which I find to be ugly. Fluorescent lighting isn't flattering. What techniques can I use to make the environment look good in the photographs? Would you suggest any particular settings?
FYI: I'm not a professional, I'm a 16 year old hobbyist. This is a favor and my aunt is not expecting anything great, or even all that good - just snapshots. But I'd like to give her pretty photographs. I own a Nikon D3000.

Anybody have any links for tripods for the Nikon D3100? Any in walmart or bestbuy? Target… Anything just not online stores like amazon/ebay.
price range: up to $25, but i would pay more if it is a very good tripod

Why do pictures on my Nikon D3000 come out slightly blurry?
I've had my Nikon D3000 for about 8 months and it has been working completely fine until recently, when the pictures started to get out of focus (blurry on the edges like everything was reflected out of a mirror, kind of like motion blur, or weird everywhere). I lost the cap to the lens a few months ago and I thought that might be the problem but it isn't likely since the pictures have been fine until now. I have tried to reset the settings and everything but it just isn't looking like it will work--is it something I did to the settings?
I would really just like pictures that are worth as much as the camera! I'm really dissapointed.
Hope some of you techies can help!

What are some good lenses for nature photography on a nikon d5100?
I'm trying to find some good and lenses for the camera that would be good for nature photography but i don't know what to get.

Ok so i purchased a nikon D7000, i thought it could take high iso in low light conditions, however i'm finding the noise the same as the nikon D90.is this true? What else is bad about this camera i don't know about.

What are the limitations in using a manual lens with a digital camera (nikon)?
I tried looking up online, but the response wasn't - shall i say, satisfactory. I'm using a Nikkor 50mm on my D5100 on M mode, my camera doesn't have an inbuilt AF motor, so I have to focus manually. That I have learnt, but the viewfinder zooms humungously and I have to step backwards to get the proper shot? Why does this happen? I think it's because of the sensor crop and all that, which happens when using lenses from a 35mm film camera to a DSLR?
Another issue i'm facing is when in Live View the view is just as it should be, perfectly lit and all, but when I hit the shutter, the image that comes is poorly lit and very dark? I then shoot at very low speeds, below 1/25 then obviously the shake screws it up. Can't seem to strike the right balance between aperture and shutter here.
So, basically, can anyone give me tips on how to get the best in this situation, if you've yourself been in it?
Also, the images are exactly they would be when shot with a film camera, which is a little less color and saturation but the sharpness is brilliant.
Added (1). I know 50mm is a prime lens, fhotoace, and I know it does not zoom at all and that is specifically why I mentioned the images are too in-the-face and look zoomed on their own as compared to putting the same lens on a film camera, it would have a wider coverage. That's what I meant. And yes, you sorted it out for me by saying it becomes a medium telephoto, that's what I wanted to know.

What do you think about the Nikon D7000, have you got one, used one? What do you think about this camera?
