Nikon D3100 shutter sound afftects my pictures?
I really don't know much about photography yet, my class starts in November and I just got the D3100.
his past weekend I was taking photos just fine, several of them in fact. I went to take more photos a few days later and after 2 or 3 the shutter sounded like it was taking an eternity and I was getting overexposed photos. Severly overexposed photos. I would leave the camera on a tripod in bright sunlight and still couldn't take a picture of a fence without it looking like a white blob. I've tried changing settings including my ISO (because that's the only thing I changed from the weekend until then). My battery was running a bit low so I tried recharging it, that didn't fix anything. I reformated the memory card and that didn't work. I cleaned my lens, that didn't work. I tried resetting factory settings, that didn't work. Is there anything else I can try? Is there a flaw with my camera?
Added (1). I do not have the focus at Auto. I'll try reading over the manual. I think it may have been a wrong setting as I was setting it up when I first got it, and I want to reset the camera to factory settings. Do you know how to?

Christmas present for my aunt with kids photo ideas?
So i know its not that close to Christmas yet but I like to get the job done early. Anyways my aunt has three kids ( two boys ages six and eight, and a baby girl about 18 months) And I have a Nikon D5000 and I was thinking to take the kids to my grandmas house when there are more leaves on the ground and take cute pictures of them and then get a cute multiple picture frame for the pictures and thats the present… At my grandmas house she has a pasture, sheep, goats, chickens, a minature horse, and a tire swing, playground set up. So what could I have the kids do? Got any ideas?

Why is my nikon d3000 screen not working?
Why is my nikon d3000 screen not working?
Added (1). I'm not an idiot, I know that this model does not allow you to view what the lens is seeing from the LCD screen before I take the picture. The problem I'm having is that the screen does not show anything at all-- the menu or the pictures that I have already taken after I summon the "play" function. Does anyone have any USEFUL non-condescending advice?

Is the 70-300mm f/4-5.6G AF Nikkor SLR Camera Lens compatible with the d60?
I keep reading that this lens is compatible with the Nikon d60 and others places say that it isn't… Please let me know. Thank you!
Added (1). Thank you both so much. I almost bought the wrong lens haha.

I have been taking photos at my sons Football games, after half time the pics are super blurry. I have a Nikon D5000 w/ 55-200 lens. My question is: Is there a certain setting I could use so the pics will not be blurs running by? I use the auto setting mostly but have also tried the sport setting.
