Can I edit full HD video from my DSLR camera with intel i5 laptop?

I just bought a nikon D7000 but I need a much better computer to edit movies. Is a intel i5 processor on laptops enough to edit full HD videos?

Yes it is, even a dual core processor is good enough.

So… Which processor are you talking about? Because some of those would be better than others. Can you use any of them? Of course… You have already discovered you can edit full HD Video without a Core i5 processor… You have been doing so.So, obviously you can edit video with one as well. But you are referencing whether or not a Core i5 processor will be an improvement over your current computer.

This fails because you have provided no frame of reference. We would need to know your old computer specifications, and we would need a specific Core i5 processor to compare to your old CPU.
