How to achieve this soft color/light?
I've been taking pictures for about 2 years now, so not very long and my photos have always been very bright and colorful but i want to be able to do soft looks as well.
i love the color and light in this photo: 
how can achieve this either with lighting or photoshop? I know some of it HAS to be post production, maybe desaturating colors or something?
Heres one of my pictures, i feel like it woulda looked better if it was soft like the photo on top
and if anyone is curious i shoot with a nikon d60, and i have two 250w soft boxes and two 250w photo flood lamps for fill/background light. I don't have a lot of money for new equipment so if someone could gimme a cheap alternative to making this look possible?
I have a nikon D50 however I get a CHA error on the D50 using a 16GB SD card and was wondering if by any method i can force the card to use recognise the 16GB card?

Suggestions for Nikon D5000 lenses?
I'm going to LA in the summer. And i have a D5000. But i need a new some new lenses. I just wanna take mostly pictures of the sites. Some portraits. I'm pretty new to the photography world so any suggestions would be great!
I need a 60fps camera, any suggestions?
I have a Nikon D3100 and a JVC everio HD camcorder. As far as i know they only shoot 30fps, I need a good 60 fps camera, any suggestions? Or does anyone have suggestions for making proper slow motion shots with the cameras i have? I tried twixtor but it was confusing and apparently only works with 60fps.

i just got these new macro filters for my Nikon d5000 camera and i'm not sure how they attach to the camera. I have a 18-55mm camera lens already. Is there anything else i need for the filter to be attached?

Added (1). It doesn't seem to have a screw on area on the camera lens, but the filter does. That's why i'm so confused. Would an extension tube work? My mother got one of them for me, but i'm not sure if it has the screw on thing.

My Nikon D3000's flash stopped working what can I do?
My Nikon d3000's flash stopped working it still takes pictures but the flash will not flash so the pictures turn out really bad unless it's sunny out. Is there anyway that I can fix this. It is still under warranty but I'm not sure where to send it either. A quick fix or a location on the nikon site as to where to send it would be appreciated.
