NO
Your 6 year old dSLR was designed and built LONG before SDHC cards were designed and ONLY uses SD cards, Cards with a maximum capacity of 2 gb.
That said, why would you want to use such a huge card anyway? Such large cards only make photographers lazy and they stop copying all their images to their computer at the end of each shooting day. This can only lead to disasters, losing all your images when the card eventually becomes corrupt. This happens because in addition to not routinely copying your images to your computer, people use the delete button on their camera. These are both very bad habits
Buy a hand full of 2 gb SD cards and carry them with you in a little pouch. When you fill one, copy all the images to your computer either then (or better at the end of each shooting day) and after all your images are safely saved to your computer, format the card using the format feature on your computer.
Up to 2 gb cards are saved using the 16FAT formatting scheme. 4 gb and above (SDHC) use a 32FAT scheme.
My 6 mp D100 holds over 500 images at its highest resolution using a 2 GB card. I NEVER fill a 2 gb card in a day of shooting.
