I have the kit lens (18-55mm) and a Sigma 50-200mm lens. I would ideally like a 35/50mm lens and also a larger zoom lens (I was look at the Sigma 50-500mm - but it's way out of my price range). Could anyone recommend some alternatives to them which are at a good price but still also a good lens? (I'm in the UK so £ please)

Wide angle lens for Nikon d5000?
I've been told and read that both Nikon 50mm F1.8G AF-S Nikkor Lens and Nikon 50mm F1.4G Af-S Nikkor are wide angle lens.
I've been wondering which one to get. I'm not a professional; photography is a hobby for me. So i don't need something too expensive that I won't use as it deserves, but want to get a wide angle lens. (if any of the two mentioned above are)
I'd mainly use it for landscapes, portraits, and bokeh.

Added (1). Thanks, I felt that those two weren't wide angle lenses but some sites over the internet did categorize it as wide angle, so i got confused:/
I guess i'll save up for a 10-24Mm then!
Looking for a reasonable priced Macro lens for my Nikon D40 with 18-55mm lens.
I have found a few on ebay but unsure to whether they are compatible and the pros/cons.

It states from the test results that canon has better image quality ( especially in low light!) i thought it was the other way around. (i know there's no REAL difference ) but i was lead to believe it would be better for low light and had the edge when it came to the sensor. Is this review wrong or bias?
