SO I bought a Vivitar 2800 auto thyristor and when I want to put it in my D5000 or Canon AE-1 it doesn't turn on, I've added batteries to it, but it won't work, how can I get it to work with my Nikon D5000?

Nikon lenses and the DX format?
I'm very confused with the focal lengths of Nikon DX format cameras. I own a Nikon D5000. When I shoot with DX lenses on my camera, do I still need to multiply 1.5 because of the crop factor to get the actual focal length? Or the focal length is as it is? I super need help!

Give me advice on the settings for this type of picture?
I'm gonna take my son pumkin picking today and i would love to get some good pictures out of it. I'm familiar with my camera, just don't wanna pick the wrong settings and at the end all my pictures are worthless.lol

outdoors, i won't take my tripot, to much to carry with the pumkins.

I have a Nikon D5100 and some nice lenses. I'm trying to take some product photos for a friend and perhaps a model. I have no idea what I'm doing! Any help with lighting or how good photoshopping techniques to make it look professional?

Nikon D5100 doesn't have a built in autofocus motor.so do AF lenses work on it?
I'm going to be getting the Nikon D5100 soon and also the Nikon Zoom-Nikkor Telephoto zoom lens - 70 mm - 300 mm - F/4.5-5.6 - Nikon F. Will it autofocus in video and in pictures?

What cameras are comparable to the Canon T3i?
Other than the Nikon D5100, of course. Also, preferably a model that is more inexpensive, though I'd like to hear any other suggestions C

Lets say we compare Nikon D90 to Canon 550d. They have similar sensor size (D90 is slightly bigger), but 550D has a much larger MP. I've noticed that when I enlarge D90 photos, things tend to get pixelated (not as sharp) and I remember some review website (could have been dpreview, can't remember now) saying that a bigger MP means I can enlarge the photo without much damage.
Is this true?

What is the best macro lens to get for a nikon d3100? I already have a 18-55mm and a 55-300 zoom lens, so what can i buy that can get as close up as possible?
