How to delete the photos on my memory card?
I have a Nikon D40.

Is my camera broken or is my lens broken?
Nikon D5000.It has a 18-55 mm af-s Nikkor lens. Whenever I try to use it it says "non-cpu lenses can be used in manual mode only". I have to switch my camera to M for it to work. It SHOULD be working in auto though. When I use my 55-200 mm lens I have no problems using auto though. So is it my camera's fault it fails to recognize my 18-55 as a cpu lens or is it the lens? Or both?
Added (1). Didn't help. Obviously why I'm asking it again. I want to make sure my camera isn't messed up along with the lens.

So I have a Nikon d5100 with 18-55mm lenses. I was wondering what lens would make my picture better and give her the 'professional' look. I have my eye on the 50mm 1.4 and 50mm 1.8 but I'm not sure which one is more profitable, also if you have any other suggestions for lenses just say. I like bokeh that the 50mm gives to the picture. Which lenses do the similar thing?

Does any one have any tips? Or better yet examples?
Okay, so I've been hired by distant families distant family to be the photographer for their wedding. Now this is all well and good because a job is a job and I need money. But, I'm only 17, I'm still in High School. So I've never had official training. Not to say I'm not good. But I'm still learning. And I've never really done group shots. But the couple was shown my portfolio and wanted me to do it so I guess that's a good sign. Now, I have a Nikon D40 with a telephoto lens and a stock lens, a strobe, a tripod, a few different UV filters, and two very large SD cards. Before the reception and the actual ceremony I'm going to take a few minutes out to make sure I have a good location, good lighting, settings adjusted properly, and etc. My question is there anything in particular I should or shouldn't do? Any helpful tips? If any one could give me some links to some sites with wedding photos, or maybe show me theirs that would be especially helpful. All help is appreciated.

How to take portraits with nikon d3100?
I get really ugly images of faces with 18-55mm kit lens. Do you have some tips to get better portraits.

Cheap and easy to use entry level DSLR?
I'm a Canon 60D user. My friend loves how I can change lenses and record full HD videos so hes considering a jump into the world of DSLRs but have no basic knowledge at all in photography yet. So he asked me to recommend an entry level camera with smart auto functions and easy to use. I have listed down four cameras according to the price i think is affordable to him, although I don't know his price range for sure;
- Canon 1100D
- Nikon D3100
- Sony SLT-A35
- Sony NEX-C3
but I never touched them before so I don't know which one to recommend.

I'm a beauty and fashion photographer from Newcastle Upon Tyne.
I have worked with 2 fashion companies, Sinfused & ASOS, but they both got in touvh with me via my Model Mayhem account.
I look at other photographers work, who are around my age, and their work is amazing and they have been published in magazines like Heat, Cosmopolitan, Front etc. I would love to know how that's done?
I see people around me who are a few years older than me and they are working in London, New York etc doing photography and I would just love to know that someday I can have half of what they have.
I shoot with a Nikon D5000 and just a standard lens. I have my eye on a 70-200mm F2.8 lens but they are way out of my price range.
Here is a link to my Facebook page where a lot of my stuff is;

And advice will do, I just really want to make a living from this and help my family out for all that they've done for me.
Thank-you.

Tips on what to look for in a dslr camera for independent film?
Me and my friends want to do a independent film for fun sometime next year. We were looking at cameras online and were overwhelmed by all the different kinds and prices. We saw a $600 camera called the Nikon D3100 with 14.2MP, then we found a website about 10 Examples of Stunning DSLR Cinematography and most of the videos were shoot with the $2170 Canon EOS 5D Mark II with 21.1MP. Does film get better with more megapixels or does the gains stop at a certain point. I would be the one to buy the camera and want the best for the film. I was looking to spend between 500 to 1500, but if Canon EOS 5D Mark II is that great I would save a little more. Please, any tips on what to look for would be very appreciated.

I hear that the 7D is great for video. I currently own a nikon d5000.it was my first dslr, and i have had it for two years now so i want to upgrade. I want nice 1080p video. I know the sensor is a small APS-C sensor. Does that affect it? I would LOVE the 5Dmkii but I really feel I'm not ready for something that expensive. I don't really have the money for the 5Dmkii, plus my sister has one and i could probably just borrow hers. I do film, also photography. Is the 7D a good film camera for the money?
btw don't recommend the 60D or the T3i. I really want the 7D, but i'm just wondering if it is worth it. Is it comparable to the 5Dmkii for film?
