I want to buy a new camera but I'm not sure which one is the best. I prefer the brands Canon & Nikon.
( Something like the Nikon D3100 ). Please Help! The camera also needs to be around $200-300.

Is Nikon D3100 good for beginners? - 1
I'm not very good at Photography. But i'm very much passionate about it. I'm planning to buy Nikon D3100 to take my passion to a higher level. Is this DSLR a good one for a beginner like me? Is Nikon D3100 a user friendly one? I mean can i use it without much of any complications?

What do I need to buy for my nikon d5100?
I just want to know what things can I buy for it. I need a shutter remote, don't know if I can make it with some sort of accessory waterproof. And where could I get a good telephoto lens. Also for shooting pretty small things where can I get a good macro lens?

How to take action/sports photos and keep the subject in focus?
I set my Nikon D5000 to dynamic range mode and I have to choose which of the 11 focus points I want to use. However when I take pictures of someone or something moving it's hard to get the focus point to be on the subject and when I take the picture the point was somewhere else and the background is in focus but not the subject. My camera has a 3D tracking mode too but not in M exposure mode.

Fisheye lens for my DSLR camera?
I want to buy a fisheye lens for my nikon d5000 SLR camera. I'm a serious photographer, but am not sure how much I would use this special lens, so I want to get one that is not too expensive. A good off-brand would be fine. Any suggestions? Please, 100 dollars or less would be great! I don't really know anything about fisheye lenses.
Added (1). I'd like some specific lens suggestions, please. What kind did you get?

Just bought a new D3100 the other day, and although i've just used it in auto (-flash) with AF and manual, i'm actually shocked at how average the pics are, my Lumix TZ7 is actually better. Surely even in auto i'd expect it to be as good as an old compact, but it isn't?
Added (1). Exposure was fine. The image on Auto (set to Large & Fine) was grainy, not sharp, and not well focused, same on manual focus. This has nothing to do with learning how to use the camera it was a question regarding the Auto setting quality. I'd have thought 'Auto' on this camera would be better than my iphone which its on par with.
Added (2). Been on some forums etc, seems a lot of people are having the same issues, but others aren't? Thinking there's issues wth this camera. All things considered this camera on Auto is on par with my iphone. Camera is being returned.

What Photo Suite do i need for Nikon camera?
I have just purchased a Nikon D5100 camera and along with the standard lens have also purchased a super wide angle lens (fish eye)
I'm not a professional photograper, just a guy who wants to take some decent pics and put them on my web site and Ipad2 for promotional purposes for my business. I draw architectural drawings and would like to be able to show before and after images of the jobs I get involved with.
I need a simple to use photo suite that can be used fairly easily so I can demonstrate the images.
What photo suite would you recommend.
Any help in this matter will be greatly appreciated.

I know that the Nikon D3100 does not have the time lapse feature but I have heard that you can get a wireless remote so you can still get the time lapse effect. Does anyone have any recommendations on good devices that they know of or use?
Cheers guys

Can't get Olympus Evolt e-500 To focus at all?
So, I'm pretty new with cameras and I just acquired a Olympus Evolt E-500 for free, so Of course I gladly accepted. The only DSLR i've ever worked with was the Nikon D40 in my tech class, and that was much easier to handle and had better image quality. The auto focus does nothing. The focus on the actual lens is either broken or its just so sensitive that I can't see a difference in image quality. I got good pictures for 1 day, and now they are so blurry. The lens I have is a Zuiko 14-45mm. I heard that's not a good lens anyway. I'm wondering if Anyone else had this problem, and what settings they used? Or if anyone has any other solutions to my problem. Also, I would love for someone to link me to some nice and cheap beginners lens that is compatible with my camera. And one that has good focus…
