Which camera should I choose?

I mainly focus on people and sports, but do a bit of wildlife photography too. I'm torn between the Nikon D7000 and Canon 7D (in no particular order). I'm not a pro at all, more of an amateur and just love to take good pictures! All I need is vivid colors and clear pictures. Good video is a plus, but I mainly use my cameras for taking photos.

My Nikon D40's flash is broken, will buying a new flash solve the problem?

So I saw a tutorial on how to fix it, but the hook that makes the flash work is broken. I did research and repair would cost over $200! And I don't have that kind of money!
So I was wondering if buying a new flash is the way to go? Is this a good idea even if the internal flash is broken?

Also, what flash would you guys recommend? I was looking at some really cheap ones like ring flashes and slave flashes. I don't want anything fancy, just something to replace my broken flash.

Nikon Action Shots Zoom Lens?

Currently I shoot a Nikon D40 camera with the stock lens (18-55mm). However, most of my pictures with this camera are action shots of animals. What would be the best zoom lens for this? I don't want a huge zoom lens- but something that will be able to zoom in action about 40-60 yards away (give or take). Also, I can't afford something really expensive- preferably under $300

I never drop my camera before, now my camera start to make this weird noise when i close it. I scared it might be broken. Does anyone know what problem with that?
Btw i still have my 1 year warranty but i buy it at Malaysia and now i'm at UK. Should i just sent to the service centre. I totally dunno what to do now.
