How to take pictures by activating zoom with Nikon d5100?
I want to take photos by zooming the subject with my d5100

I have Panasonic DMC-FZ18 (for 3 years now) and now planning to go for Nikon D7000?
I read a lot of reviews and comments on D7000 and its kit lens(18-105mm) that if you are first timer then have/go for the kit lens other-wise its not much good(even read people saying that their 18-105mm is in closet after few month of D7000 purchase.) My real dilemma is that since i now know bit of DSLR technicality(through my Panasonic FZ18).So, what should i do, go for D7000 with kit lens or only D7000 body and a set of good lenses?
Please suggest me on this, also on which lenses to go for.
I have selected some lenses:
1. Nikon AF-S DX Nikkor 35mm f1.8G
2.AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR II
3.AF-S VR Zoom-NIKKOR 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6G IF-ED(is it was originally made for film lens?) for Tele-photo
If you have suggestion on better lenses then please mention it.
Also, somewhere i read that the DX lenses have some problems(don't know what problems, might be image quality because of DX cropping factor) with FX DSLRs.So, in future if i will plan for FX DSLRs then these(above mentioned) DX lenses(if all my lenses will be of DX format ) will be of no use, as spending on good lenses are more worthy as they are future secure.
So, please help me to clear my dilemma.

Which camera to buy depending on my existing skills?
Hi. I'm Dr with PhD, during my PhD studies i took lessons about photography bec we need knowledge to take our patients photos before and after. But my experience mainly in close shots. Now I want to do it as a hobby also. Like portraits, nature, events, etc… I was checking the market wow so many new cameras ( long time I'm away from the news! ) I got confused between canon and nikon. Canon has new release eos 5D mark III. The thing is should I buy full frame camera or just go for regular ones like canon rebel series or nikon D7000?

I'm confused between the sigma 70-200mm, nikon 10-24mm, or a D7000?
I'm a beginner and I'm confused between the nikkor 10-24 f/3.5-4.5G ED, the nikon D7000 and the sigma 70-200mm, which one do you think i should buy, currently i have the nikon D3100, nikon 50mm 1.8g, 18-55vr and the 55-300mm. So do you think i should buy the D7000, 70-200mm or the 10-24mm.

Can I use canon lens on my nikon d7000 camera?
Can I use canon lens on my nikon d7000 camera?

In my school, I'm enrolled in a Photo Imaging course and I'm allowed to bring my camera, the Nikon D5100, to that class. I have done it several times before, and made it a habit to check that I had my camera on me throughout the day. On Thursday, I was in a different class after Photo Imaging, and I was talking to a classmate, got sidetracked, and realized I didn't have my camera on me after the class ended. I went to that class at the end of the day only to have the teacher tell me he didn't get up during his lunch period, so he wouldn't have noticed my camera bag. He had a class after his lunch period, so someone in that class HAD to have taken it (this was right before the end of the day).So I went to security and looked through surveillance tape, but the security guard was not very helpful and got frustrated easily when I told him EXACTLY the five minute period in between classes that you could see the thief walking out with it. He insisted on zooming in on only a certain hallway, which happened to be incorrect; how ignorant! I'm going back to the security office on Monday to see a different security guard to look through the surveillance tape with. LOTS of people in my school can identify my camera and camera bag, so the news is all over Facebook, Twitter, etc. I need my camera- the newspaper and yearbook clubs frequently use my pictures to fill their publications with, and whoever stole the camera is serving a huge injustice to not only me, but to everyone that is able to utilize my pictures. Any other suggestions?
Added (1). I'm not a "klutz." I have never lost expensive electronics, and this is the first time that something like that has happened to me.

I'm confused between two cameras. Which one to buy? Sony SLT-A55VL or Nikon D5100?
Well, sony focuses on 15 points as compared to nikon that focuses on 11 points. Also, though I have not tested but I think Nikon D5100 don't use Auto Focus but Sony do has auto focus. Sony comes with built in GPS but the image quality of Nikon is said to be better.

How to not have a date in the lower right of these pictures taken with a Nikon D3000?
Every time I take a picture with the Nikon d3000 it has the date in the lower left corner of the photo. I don't want it.
I already went to the menu and went to Date Stamp and turned it off but it doesn't do anything
