Why don't the canon 600d and nikon d5100s images look roughly the same?
if you pick the canon 600d and the d5100 then click on the picture of the house why are they so different? The nikons image quality looks washed out and colorless where as the canon 600d looks bright, detailed and vivid why is this?
the dxo mark sensor comparison gives the d5100 a score of 80 where as the 600d a score of 65
here it is http://www.dxomark.com/...nd2)/Canon
i was just wondering why the d5100s sensor is rated quite a bit better but looks worse in image comparison?
sorry its a long one but thank you for reading.

How good is the zoom on this lens? I want the 18-200, but wow it's expensive! I'm going on a cruise to italy, croatia, spain, greece, etc. Will this suite my needs? Things like the ocean, buildings, Statue of David, Pisa, Dome, statues, etc? Oh, and I have a nikon d5000.

LCD Lag Time and Resetting my Camera?
I have a Nikon D60 and it takes pictures just fine but recently there has been a lag in time between when the shutter is released and when the picture comes up on the LCD. It takes a while - let's say, 5-10 seconds before the pictures come up - and the hourglass icon pops up. Please note the problem is not a long shutter release time but the time it takes after the photo is captured to when it shows up on the screen.
Can someone help me with this? It is frustrating because I don't have time to wait for the picture to come up to see if I need to change settings!
I changed the battery, reformatted the SD, and even tried resetting the entire camera but for some reason it wouldn't reset.
So I guess this is a 2 part question.
Added (1). Thanks for the harsh criticism fhotoace, but I'm not to the point that I fully understand light metering yet but that was not the point of my question, now was it? I'm sure even you, such a developed professional photographer, look at your LCD to review pictures every once in a while? How would you like it if it lagged?
Added (2). QRK --- You are So right! I totally forgot I was playing with that one day and I guess I didn't notice it was still on when I went to the menu to see what the problem was.

How to find the shutter count on a Nikon D40?
I bought one for extremely cheap (130 for a full kit) at a yard sale and don't really know how to use it
Added (1). Taylor- thanks! I'll be sure to update

Why does my Nikon D5100 keep making weird noises?
It's only just started doing it… After taking a picture on 'Bulb' shutter speed. It sounds a bit like a really old computer. I think it might be the camera loading but i dunno?

Which lens is better for travel? Nikkor 18-55mm or 35mm f/1.8?
Next month I will be traveling to Europe and I was wondering which lens would be better to take with me. I own a Nikon D3100 and have the 18-55mm lens already, but I was looking at purchasing the 35mm. It seems to have much better image quality and is more compact, but my only concerns are not being able to zoom with this lens or get a wide angle shot. I'm trying to pack lightly and do not want to bring more than one lens with me if not necessary. Any recommendations as to what I should do?

I'm thinking of buying nikon d3100 or is there any other camera better than this at this price tag should i buy now or can i wait till nikon d3200 price drops. Please help
Added (1). Is there any thing better than nikon d3100 with the same price tag

Where can i buy the best package for the nikon d5100 online?
I want the cheapest package you can find of a nikon d5100 with the 18-55mm lens and the 55-200mm lens dx vr and a case and memory card and possibly some other goodies (tripod, carrying case, etc)
where can you find the cheapest price by a reputable dealer?
Added (1). I live in grand rapids michigan!

I bought a Neewer speedlite tt560 and no matter what setting I use on my camera the flash only triggers 3 times and it it super slow and won't sync with the camera making the images blurry. Not sure how to fix this and what settings to use so it fires everytime and won't turn out blurry.
10 points to whoever can tell me what to do!

Shall I buy an Olympus E-420 for 330$ with 2 kit lenses?
It's a while that I want to move on for my first dSLR, however my limited budget prevents me from buying exactly what I want. I like Pentax k-r (or k-x) more than any other camera but my budget for now doesn't allow to pay minimum 580$ (520$). Another option is a Nikon d5000 with a kit lens (refurbished one) for 420$ and a Nikon D3000 with a kit lens (again refurbished) for 360$. However the cheapest option is an Olympus E-420 with a kit lens (14-42mm) for 270$ (refurbished) and an Olympus E-420 with 2 kit lenses (14-42 and 40-150mm) for 330$ (refurbished). I'm very confused if it's worth to buy one of Olympus'es or Nikon D3000 now, or if it is better to wait for may be a year or more to be able to buy something like k-r?
I think if I buy Olympus or D3000, I may need to buy another camera a few years later, but buying a k-r or D5000 will satisfy me for much longer time.
