So in my previous questions, I explain how I have a Nikon D5000, and that I'm going on a cruise around Italy, Croatioa, Greece, etc. I wanted the 18-200 with VR, but man it is expensive. What is a cheaper solution, Vr included? Also, is Vr a huge deal to have?

I have a Nikon d5000 I have used it for'' about 2 years now. I never had any problems but today when I was trying to record video it kept stopping in the middle and say recording terminated. Then it would not let me record too I put the memory card back n out. Also i format. The memory card

I'm not to educated when it comes to my Nikon D5000. I'm interested in purchasing a new lens though and I'm wondering what's the best one for what I want to achieve. I'm looking for a lens that will give the best picture quality, thats crisp and sharp. The lens would be used for mostly portrait photos. The most important thing I'm looking for though is a clear image thats a perfect quality. Any suggestions?
Best Overall Lens for Nikon d5100?
I'm buying the Nikon D5100 but I'm not sure whether to go with just the body and buy my own lens or just get the regular 18-55mm kit lens and body as a package?
If I were to buy my own lens I want it to be good for close ups and distance shots of things such as animals. Which lens do you recommend?
Should I wait for the possible D7000 replacement?
I'm thinking about upgrading to the Nikon D7000 from my Nikon D3000. However, there has been word of a POSSIBLE replacement being released nearing the end of this year and I was wondering whether it would be better to wait for this possible replacement or go ahead and get a D7000 now?
Will the price of the D7000 drop down, nearing the end of the year? I don't want to wait until then and realise that I could have saved a couple hundred dollars by buying it now (while end of financial year sales are on) instead of later.

Taking a picture of the moon with Nikon D3100?
Has anyone out there taken a picture with their NikonD3100, or any DSLR? Any recommendations as to what settings to put the camera on? I have a tripod, so thats covered. What about a telescope? What settings would oen use with the camera attached to it?

Zooming in and out during video mode on Nikon D3100?
I want to buy a Nikon d3100 mainly because it has excellent image quality and has video mode as well. My question is though, while in video mode, if I zoom in/out how long does it usually take the camera to focus? Or would I have to focus it manually?
