Should I wait for the possible D7000 replacement?

I'm thinking about upgrading to the Nikon D7000 from my Nikon D3000. However, there has been word of a POSSIBLE replacement being released nearing the end of this year and I was wondering whether it would be better to wait for this possible replacement or go ahead and get a D7000 now?
Will the price of the D7000 drop down, nearing the end of the year? I don't want to wait until then and realise that I could have saved a couple hundred dollars by buying it now (while end of financial year sales are on) instead of later.

When it gets close to replacement time Nikon tends to leak like a sieve! I'd be surprised if there wasn't a D7000 replacement within the next year, since on certain features it's beaten by the D3200! It's the D5100 that looks really out of place at the moment.
*I'll add that Sony also leaks a great deal, while Canon tends to keep things under wraps much better.

Some cameras go up in value. My Nikon P90 is selling more now than it did when it was new, same for the Nikon D40.
