I have a nikon D3000, the little thing that holds the battery in fell off and is lost. I've been using cardboard and tape, but thats not working out great. I don't know what that piece is called- where can I get a new one? Or is there any better ways to make that work?

Can you fix a dslr lens that makes noise (sound) when you zoom?

Just to clarify by noise I mean loudness, like a scratching or friction sound. I've been looking at slr cameras for a while, and I definitely want one that shoots video. However the majority of cameras I find make noise when zooming(and i think manually focusing) that gets picked up by the internal mic(kit lens). Can you use something to make it smoother and quieter? WD-40 for example? The cameras I've found with this problem are the Canon t1i and T2i, and the Nikon d3100 and d90 i believe does too. The only one I've found that doesn't so far is the Pentax K-x. These are some examples of what I mean:

Where can I find a cheap SLR Camera?

I need a new camera next year for college. A SLR to be precise, but the one I would like is quite expensive(£500).It's a Nikon D3100, and so I want to be able to get it before September next year. If you know of any good, suitable places online that will NOT scam me, then please could you direct me to the site?

Cameras as Carry-ons?

I'm going to Florida this January and as a huge plane fanatic I was planning on bringing my Camera (Nikon D50 dSLR) onto the plane with me and I was wondering if this is still allowed, also I was wondering what's the deal with those X-Ray machines (forgive me if they don't use these, I've only flown once and that was like when I was 8), is it safe to put your camera through whatever security scanning devices they use? If anything bad happens to my camera can I sue?
