Review for the new Nikon D7000?

I'm considering purchasing the new Nikon D7000. This is a new Nikon SLR. Has anyone purchased this SLR? Please write a review here.

I have not purchased it, but here is a link to a great review. This guy is a great photographer. If you have time, look through the rest of his website. You'll learn a lot.

Firstly Ken Rockwell is NOT a great photographer - he takes mediocre snapshots at best. The bloke delights in spouting misinformation by his own admission.

The trouble is personal reviews are probably going to be biased. Think about it, if you've just spend £1000 on a camera are you honestly going to say it's not any good?

Media reviews can't really be trusted either. They have to be positive or otherwise risk losing money from advertising, or not getting cameras to review in the future. So they will always put a positive spin on it.

dpreview.com hasn't had a chance to run some proper tests on the D7000 yet. I'd recommend you wait for them to put up their test shots, which really put the sensor and processor to the test. The compare it with your own experiences of the camera.

When I buy a camera, I don't look at reviews any more. I know that a mid-range SLR from Canon, Nikon or Pentax will not be bad. Then I'll look at the performance in a range of tests (for example on DPreview.com), and compare them to what I have right now and see if it's a justifiable improvement for me to make the investment.
