Are lenses on Nikon DSLR cameras interchangeable?

I've been looking at a bunch of different Nikon lenses and am wondering if they are all interchangeable? Amazon has certain lenses suggested for certain cameras, but then with other cameras they aren't suggested. Will this lens:

http://www.amazon.com/...000HJPK2C/

which is suggested for the D90, work on my D3000? All the lenses I'm looking at are new on Amazon, so I'm talking new lens to new lens comparison…

Photography student looking for first DSLR?

I'm a freshman in college with an intended major in photography and am looking to buy my first dslr camera. I've mostly done traditional work with film but I want to upgrade to digital but I just can't decide what to buy. I'm looking into buying the Nikon D3100 package with the 2 lenses. Any other suggestions or opinions would be GREATLY appreciated.

WHAT's THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE NIKON D5000 AND D3000?

Ok, nikon d5000 is obv more expensive. I know it has video and you could see the image on the screen while youre taking the picture, while the d3000 DOES NOT have this stuff. All i want to know is if the d5000 takes better quality pictures then the d3000. THANK CHUUU

How to get my camera to shoot at a higher resolution?

I have a Nikon D3000, and it has always taken photos at a resolution of 300. For some reason, today, when I took some pictures and put them on my computer the resolution was only 72.It was very upsetting because I need these pictures to be resolution 300 for a project I'm working on. Does anyone know how I can make my camera shoot at a higher resolution?

I want to buy a Nikon D40x (body only)?

I'm looking for a Nikon D40x and found a well priced one with the body only i'm wondering if i can get any lens and have it fit right on. I'm going to be taking action and maybe poorly lit shots it would be great if you could suggest a lens that would fit these requirements and have a fairly good zoom.

Nikon D3100 v.s. D3000?

I bought a D3100 for $700 with an 18-55mm VR lens. I saw today a Camera that was a D3000 for $599 with a 18-55 (non VR Lens) and 55-200 zoom Lens. My question is which has a better quality? Which is a better deal? And what's the difference of having a lens with VR and non VR? I'm really confused.

Near Infra Red - Nikon D50 - What filter or technique to use?

"White Balance and color" images.
Image ref.nrs.:
12

The upper link takes you to a page where the camera used is supposedly the same as mine, yet the image is white/gray/blue/yellow while mine are of solid colour. The numbers above correspond to 4 photographs on that same page (about 1/3 slider down at White Balance and color section).

I use a home-modified Nikon D50 with 2 layers of black slide-film as IR filters instead of hot mirror on the chip.
My initial idea was that the second cover blocks too much visible light and renders images a solid colour - but this doesn't explain why White Balance doesn't work.

So my problem is this: I wish to make an image like #2 - the bluish leaves and brown clouds but always end up with a violet version of #1. I tried setting white balance manually with one of the blank page images I took but the pictures remain violet. I shoot in RAW(.NEF)

The other WB settings work. Or used to before I removed the hotmirror. I can still see the difference if I shoot with "flash" or "tungsten" but manual WB doesn't make it white. Could the image be "too violet" for the camera to process? Or is it the film's fault? I've got a glass IR filter (Cokin 89B) that gives much more red photographs, but would that really work differently?

Old manual focus lens on Nikon D3000?

Just purchased a Nikon D3000, moving on from a Yashica FX-3. I want to get a similar lens to the Yashica's, but obviously a Nikon lens. I'd like it to be manual focus too. I'm thinking a lens from the 70s or similar. Does anyone have any suggestions?
