I'm wanting to get into some higher class photography, just a better quality camera then your standard digital camera.
I know that the brands are all about equal, but that the minor differences are fit for which features you want.
In other words, each brand is for specific uses.
I was wondering what the differences between just the basic camera brands. (Canon, Nikon, Sony, Olympus, etc.)
If you just tell me a few differences for a few brands, that'd be great!
Thanks!
BTW, ONE THING I WOULD LIKE TO DO IS BOKEH PHOTOGRAPHY ( WITH LIGHTS AND STUFF, I KNOW THAT HAS TO DO WITH LENSES, BUT I WAS ALSO WONDERING WHICH CAMERA WOULD BE BEST FOR THAT!
I'm currently thinking about which DSLR too get but I can't make up my mind. I'm willing to spend around a $1, 400.00 or a little bit more on a KIT not on just the body.
Best brand for digital point-and-shoot?
I know everyone asks this, but I need the 2010 (almost 2011) version of your opinions. My main concern is image quality. I recently bought a Nikon and was not impressed (I guess they're better with SLR). The edges were fuzzy and the thing took forever to focus. I want a compact point-and-shoot, good for people pictures but also landscape and everyday scenery since I'm traveling abroad this spring. Ideally I don't want to spend more than $200 in case I lose it (although I'm willing to go $300), and I want at least 10 megapixels if not more. I want to know what you guys think about brands so that I have the option to shop around a bit, but specific camera recommendations are welcome too. Battery life is also important. I had a Casio Exilim for years and loved it despite negative opinions of the brand, so if I don't get suggestions I'll probably just go back. Bottom line, I want good pictures that I won't be embarrassed to share.
How to take night shots with a Nikon N65 (SLR)?
This camera is not digital. My photography teacher told us to use the "Bulb" setting, but this camera doesn't have one. I don't want to use the Auto setting and we're not allowed to use flash.
How can I take night shots with this camera if I don't have a "Bulb" or "Time" setting?
Trouble watching video from digital camera. Wrong format?
Ok, so I'm trying to watch some videos a friend took for me with his digital camera. He downloaded them to my computer but for some reason I can't watch them. I can hear the sound from the video but there's no picture!
The videos are in. MOV format and I'm trying to run them on Quicktime. I believe his camera is a Nikon but I'm not sure. When I try to watch them I get two error messages… One that says "Quicktime is missing software needed to play this video but unfortunately these are not available on the Quicktime website currently" and the other is "Quicktime does not recognize the compression type on this file".
Any idea what I can do to resolve this? Do I need some new video codecs perhaps? I hate. MOV's and Quicktime… They never work right for me.

What dslr lens and camera to get?
I want to get a DSLR camera, but I'm not sure what type to get. Should I get a Canon, Nikon, or something else? What kind of lens would be a good investment to buy for taking regular pictures? I like taking pictures of family events. What should I look for when buying a camera/lens?
My friend told me just to get a Canon G11 since it's easier to use, but I really want to try out a DSLR.
I have a Kodak easy share m575, and I really want to start saving up money to get a more.professional camera. I just don't know ANYTHING about cameras or lenses or anything. Should I get a SLR or a compact? Nikon or Canon or Sony or Etc? I just need to know where to start.
All I know is that I would Like for an easy to use camera with at least 12 mega pixels and that's just good quality. Something that can take good pictures even in horrible lighting.
If you have any ideas or suggestions for me, please answer.
