I know for sure that I'm getting my first DSLR soon, but which brand to you prefer and why? The reason I put Pentax in is because of the Kx, which has more features than most of the nikons and canons I've looked at.
Looking for the right point and shoot digital camera?
I'd like to buy a new point and shoot digital camera, something easy to carry around and use at social events and that type of thing. I'd like it to be able to take quick shots. I hate it when you are posing for a picture and the camera takes long or does that double flash thing. I'd also like it to include a video option with sound. Currently I have a Nikon SLR but it's too bulky to bring with me everywhere. I've looked a bit at an Olympus, Sony and Nikon but any suggestions would be great and maybe why they are better.
Is this a bad way of photographing 2 people?
My parents had an anniversary party and they asked me to bring my camera and take photos of everyone.
all i've got is my nikon fm2, which is a film slr… So that's what i used.
they don't seem to like some of my photos

my dad was sitting right next to my mum and i took the photo from their right side.
i put my mum in focus, and my dad out of focus and took another where my dad was in focus and my mum wasn't… You get the idea.
they didn't like it. They asked me if there was something wrong with my camera.
they just don't seem to understand the idea.
do you think this is a bad way of photographing two people?
i did take a few other photos of them, where both of them are in focus and looking happy but they look like typical married couple shot.
i guess i was trying to make it a bit more interesting…

Entry level DSLR, Canon, Nikon or Sony?
I need to buy an entry-level DSLR. I know that Canon and Nikon are the kings right now. I don't know why I always incline towards Canon but need to know about Nikon DSLR cameras as well. Now a days I have seen that Sony also jumped in to DSLR range, how is it?
My budget is 500-600$ only. I like Action/Sports, spontaneous, landscape and little bit portraits photography as well. I know, it depends upon lenses but need DSLR body that goes with me atleast 3 - 4 years.
Please help me in this regard.

Where to begin when I want to buy a digital camera?
For some time now I wanted to buy a new camera. I searched the net to find countless choices! I'm more puzzled than ever. Even when I try to read the details I get lost with the technical terms and the extra lenses, filters, flashes etc. Sony, Kodak, Canon or Nikon. I managed to take amazing pictures with Polaroid or even a mobile's cam. I don't want something specific. I want some recommendations of some affordable, hundreds not thousands of dollars, cameras. What necessary extra lenses or filters etc, I must get. I want it for personal use. A friend recommended 'Canon EOS 400D Digital' if you have a previous experience with it please share it.
I need to exchange a Nikon lens for another. They are about the same price. The one I want is only available online it says, and it can't be shipped to the store. How can I exchange the lenses? Thank you!
