Trouble watching video from digital camera. Wrong format?
Ok, so I'm trying to watch some videos a friend took for me with his digital camera. He downloaded them to my computer but for some reason I can't watch them. I can hear the sound from the video but there's no picture!
The videos are in. MOV format and I'm trying to run them on Quicktime. I believe his camera is a Nikon but I'm not sure. When I try to watch them I get two error messages… One that says "Quicktime is missing software needed to play this video but unfortunately these are not available on the Quicktime website currently" and the other is "Quicktime does not recognize the compression type on this file".
Any idea what I can do to resolve this? Do I need some new video codecs perhaps? I hate. MOV's and Quicktime… They never work right for me.
Free player http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ This program will play those mov files. Http://www.codecguide.com
