So, I've heard that the RAW images on the Nikon 1 are very good. If I were to buy one, how would I take RAW images with it? And, what is the difference between jJPEG and RAW?

I've never really got into flash photography more than for portraits. I've done a few weddings for friends down the years and use an on camera Nikon SB800dx on my slr's. Using multiflash has evaded me.
I've recently got into photographing birds and I would like a reasonable setup of maybe a couple of small low power flashguns which I can run as slaves.
I have a hotshoe mounted slave unit which may work if it is compatible.
Does anybody know an inexpensive way to go about this. I don't mind being creative, or having to improvise.
I'm seeing colored horizontal lines on my Nikon D3100
I got a refurbished Nikon in the mail today. It was great, until I notices horizontal lines on my pictures. They showed up when I synced the pictures to my computer as well. I live over seas and I ordered it so it would take a long to time to send it back then receive a new one. If there anyway I can fix it here with out that hassle?
Is Nikon SB-700 AF Speedlight External Flash compatible with NikonD60?

I got the new nikon 1 for xmas and i used it for a few days and it worked fine. I just turned it on this morning and the screen is all pink. Its not either one of the lenses. It lets me review my photos but when i want to take one it does not let me and the screen is just pink.

Okay. I'm looking for a way to make money in NYC. I'm already modeling & acting because i enjoy performing, but until that officially takes off (I'm trying to get signed to Wilhelmina like one of my friends, but i'm quite scared lol), i'm looking for small jobs. I can't babysit or make art and sell stuff, my moms drawn the line on THAT one. My schools on the upper west side of Manhattan, & i'm not allowed to commute much without a nanny or one of my mothers workers. I'm on total lock-down. My b-days in February. There are a few bakeries and small boutiques by my school and even like 2 churches. I'm looking for a small job like cleaning or organizing for now. In my school, were allowed to go out during lunch time and i figured i can work during that time. Is it possible i could be hired? I'm very determined and helpful! And quiet! And if so, are there any places on the Upper West Side? I'm trying to learn how to be a little independent and save money to buy my own Nikon! Help! Thanks in advance! ♥
