My Mac is being stupid?

So I have a Nikon and I take pictures all the time for Weddings and Seniors. I just plug in my memory card and my Mac reads it no problem, usually. I just put it in after looking at the pictures on my camera and they wouldn't show up on my computer. I took out the memory card safely and put it back in my camera and the pictures up until the ones I took today are fine but the rest are just completely gone. I don't know what happened and I'm freaking out. This was a paid senior gig and the pictures just freakin disappeared. What do I do? Did my computer eat them? I'm so scared!/

Are there any significant improvements with a Nikon 16-85mm compared to an 18-55mm?

I've been searching for reviews all over the internet on the Nikon 16-85mm f/3.5-5.6G and there are a number who suggest that the Image Quality is similar to that of the kit lens 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR. They say that the only advantage of this 16-85mm is the slightly wider end, longer telephoto, and metal mount. Is that really true? Is it pointless to upgrade my kit lens (18-55mm) to this one?

Nikon FM2n Film Advance Lever Issue?

When i advanced the lever, the lever sprung back loosely and it does not lock. When that happens i have to use a coin to twist the motor drive coupling until it locks. Any easy solution to this because i find it rather annoying to do this every single time i advance.

Time lapse cameras too much choice

I'm looking at buying a camcorder. I want one that has a time lapse feature but don't want to spend too much! Also i want one that is quite ggod at filming in low light.

i have though about buying a dslr, of the nikon type as i have a dslr and could use the lenses, but i'm not sure which, if any, nikon dslr's have a time lapse filming option.

Are miranda 35mm slr cameras any good?

I'm looking at a miranda FV slr, I have never even heard of this brand and it seems pretty old. I need one for a film photography course i'm taking. I'm deciding on which one o buy, found a good deal on the miranda and it is in excellent shape. Have played around with it and it includes some lenses. I was also looking at the nikon fm 10. Still have not decided, any recommendations. I was quality and a great overall camera. I was also looking at a leica R4 just the problem with that would be I would only be able to buy like one lens a year haha!
