Nikkor AF-S and AF-D - distance info in both?
Do nikon AF-S lenses also give distance information like older D lenses?
Or no?

Favorite wide lens in the $200-$300 range?
This can be CANON or NIKON/NIKKOR
(thanks for your time to answer the question)

Which one should I get the most? Or should I just get both of these lens.

Why are these lenses so cheap?
Nikon (Nikkor) 50mm 1.2 Lens
I see them for $65 bucks, to me this seems like an amazing deal?

Which lens would be best for wedding photography?
I'm open to suggestions, but this is what i've narrowed it down to based on price range and preference:
Nikon 50mm f/1.8D AF
Tamron AF 70-300mm f/4.0-5.6
i'm aware that they are two completely different lenses, used for different purposes. But if you were going to be taking *unofficial* photos at a wedding and had to choose one or the other, which would you choose?
my cousin is getting married in a few months. She is not hiring me, photography is just a hobby of mine.
i'm also just in need of a new lens! I'm bored with what i have.

Any disadvantages over a longer macro lens?
I already have the AF-S Micro NIKKOR 60mm f/2.8G ED (minimum focus distance 18cm). However, I have found that I have to get too close to the object. I now want to get the AF-S VR Micro-Nikkor 105mm f/2.8G IF-ED (minimum focus distance 31 cm) because it has vibration reduction and the minimum focus distance is better. Is there any reason to keep the shorter macor lens (other than size and weight) if I'm going to get the longer one - Are there any advantages of keeping the shorter one as well?
Also would extension tubes work well on the AF-S VR Micro-Nikkor 105mm f/2.8G IF-ED? How much closer could I get and how much larger would it make something like a small ant?

Nikon lenses and matrix metering?
Will using the specific type of nikkor lens, i think D lenses, really make much of a difference when using matrix metering? I always see messages like "For best results use with nikon D lenses" or something like that.

Tamron 70-200mm f/2.8 for sports photography?
For my senior year in high school (next year) I'm going to be the staff newspaper photographer and I want to get a good telephoto for when I'm photographing sports and various other things. I'm looking at purchasing the Tamron 70-200mm f/2.8. However, in the fall, I will have to photograph a lot of football games at night when it's dark. I've heard that the autofocus is slow on the Tammy so I'm a bit uneasy purchasing the lens. None of the camera stores in my area carry it so I can't really test it out.
Does anyone have this lens, or have used it before? Is it adequate for sports photography? I really don't have the money at this point to spend two grand on the Nikon equivalent but I'm willing to go up to about 1, 000.
Suggestions for other lenses are welcome too. I already own the Sigma 70-300mm and do not particularly like it, especially for sports.
