Nikon 50mm f/1.8D AF Nikkor Lens?

Is this a good lens for baseball and skateboarding?

Umm, seems to me that it would be better as a lens on a camera then for baseball or skate boarding.
As a lens to take photos with on a digital camera it would be useful for the skateboarding but you may find you want a lens that is a bit more telephoto in the 100 to 150 range so your out of the way of play.
