Has the Nikon D700 been discontinued in the UK?
I've noticed some retailers (e.g. Jessops, Calumet, Grays of Westminster etc) do not have the Nikon D700 up for sale on their website anymore. I was curious whether this was purely because they're low in stock or the D700 has been discontinued because of the newly released D800?

I'm starting to full body shoot basically photoshoots. I've had my kit lens for about year and i need to upgrade I've learned a lot from my kit lens. What lens should i get I've been doing many photoshoots! I have a Nikon D5100… Anything helps I was planning to get a d700 for my primary camera then my D5100 for back up? I had bought the camera separately then got my kit lens. So this camera is about 2 years old. I'm planning on getting a 50mm 1.4 or a 24-70mm AF-S, to get some money then get the D700. Will the 24-70mm af focus?

Added (1). Looked at exif data in iphoto and ps elements 8 could not see shuntter count.
What is you opinion on the nikon D7000?
I want a nikon camera but can afford the nikon d3 so i heard the d7000 camera was cheaper and was just as good. I'm getting into proffesional photography in school/collage/university so need a camera to start off with and maybe start a business with it so it has to be good.
