Has the Nikon D700 been discontinued in the UK?
I've noticed some retailers (e.g. Jessops, Calumet, Grays of Westminster etc) do not have the Nikon D700 up for sale on their website anymore. I was curious whether this was purely because they're low in stock or the D700 has been discontinued because of the newly released D800?
No not according to the Nikon UK site, where it's still listed as a current product;
http://www.europe-nikon.com/...bl=Digital Cameras&sParam1ValueLbl=SLR&sSubnav2Para…
It is NOT listed in their 'discontinued' range.
It hasn't been marked as discontinued, however Nikon may be moving it to be discontinued by first stopping the shipment/manufacturing of new stock or camera shops don't want to pay for old models which people might not buy.
No, not officially. This is partially because the D800 doesn't directly replace the D700. Instead the D600 is in preproduction to replace the D600 as an "entry level" FX camera, which will be more like what the D700 offered.
- How long has nikon and canon been around and which is better?
- How long has canon, Pentax and Nikon been making slr cameras?
- Which has been the most followed photo brand besides from Nikon and Canon?
- I have a Nikon 18-200 DX. Lately, it has been slowly zooming on it's own?
- Would it be safe to say picture quality has always been constant?
