Is the Nikon D700 good?

Any suggestion, I want to get this camera for primary and leave my Nikon d5100 for my backup. Any suggestions. I know it FX.

With the advent of the D800, may photographers took advantage of the price reduction to buy D700's Have you been able to find any?

Asking if a D700 is good is interesting? Of course it is, buy why would you need to ask that? Have you done some research? Do you know any photographers who use them

One of the NBA photographers uses seven of them mounted on various places on the court, plus uses D3's from the baseline (his assistant uses one, cross court from him) The D700's are fired remotely when the local D3 is fired.

Superb, if you know how to use it. Your DX lenses will turn it into a DX camera, though, negating most of the benefits.

Since you don't know whether or not the 700 is a good camera, you don't need a 700.

It sounds like you just want a FF camera just for the sake of having a FF camera.

Buy a D7000 (not 700) instead.
