Nikon D3000 Compatible Flash?

I have a Nikon D3000 and I want to buy a flash to use at night. The problem is I don't want to illuminate the whole pictue, just a spot (like the center). I know when I use the built-in flash it will illuminate everything even if I'm outside and standing 10 ft away from my subject. Can someone please recommend a flash that would work with my camera for how I want to use it?

Is a Nikon D80 sufficient for a wedding photographer?

Right now I just have a Nikon D80 with a 18-55mm lens. I'm thinking of possibly getting into wedding photography.

Bonus points for what kind of flash component I should get for these types of events.

What is the fastest lens for the NIKON D80?

I was reading an answer to this on here already, but it was a 3 year old answer and I'm sure things could have changed. The previous answer was the 50mm f/1.4.

I have a Nikon D3000 and a Rokinon 8mm fisheye. Dark photos?

I have to put the camera in manual mode, I open up the aperture ring all the way to 3.5, my pictures are dark unless I set shutter speed to slower than 1/2 sec. Makes them blurry at this point.

Nikon 50mm 1.8 lens and manual focus?

My husband bought me the 50mm 1.8 lens for my Nikon D3000.It's manual lens but very sensitive. One little move and pictures are blurry. I tried to take it out and shoot some pics of my kids and it extremely difficult unless the are still. Any tips would be wonderful or should I take it back? It's a very sharp lens and provides brights photos. Any tips or suggestions. Thank you.

Added (1). Yes, I do watch for the focus dot and use the range finder.

Added (2). I have the VR 18-55mm and 55-200mm lens.

Turn off focus light on nikon d3000?

Just before i take a photo in low light, the light comes on and shines on the subject.
I'm assuming this is to reduce red eye, but i don't use flash often so I just want to turn it off if I can.
anyone know if that's possible?

What To Buy. Canon 550, Nikon D3100, Bose SoundDock Portable or Bose SoundDock?

Me and my dad want to buy something, as its just gone christmas, but we weren't quite sure what to get. We're hoping to buy it before the VAT goes up on the 4th of January and we were just wanting to get advice and your opinions on what to buy out of these 4 products.
Nikon D3100 with free tripod - £429 http://www.jessops.com/online.store/products/78032/show.html
Canon 550D - £649 (Bit pricey) http://www.jessops.com/online.store/products/77142/show.html
Bose SoundDock Portable - £349 http://www.bose.co.uk/GB/en/home-and-personal-audio/digital-music-solutions/sounddock-systems-for-iphone-and-ipod/sounddock-portable-digital-music-system/
Bose SoundDock - £249 http://www.bose.co.uk/GB/en/home-and-personal-audio/digital-music-solutions/sounddock-systems-for-iphone-and-ipod/sounddock-digital-music-system/

Any advice, alternatives etc welcome.
Thanks.

Added (1). Well, we love doing both photography and listening to music, and if we were to go with one of the cameras, it would be our first dslr. Could you point out why to choose the canon over the nikon? And if there were any other places to get it cheaper?
